Valentine’s Day
Superior Seasons is loaded with great options for the locavore/foodie or hard to buy for! From books to preserves, flour, vinegars, veggies and meats. You can’t go wrong. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and I’ve heard rumours that most females really, really appreciate a thoughtful food gift (wink, wink)

In the Garden
The greenhouses are starting up and getting ready to produce great plants for this spring. Farmers are finishing seed orders and planning for the year. Now’s the time to think about your garden seed, too! Remember to look for varieties for our growing season in the north – generally you want plants that are in the 60-70 days to harvest range maximum. Look for natural disease resistance in the varieties, as well – especially if you’ve seen mildew or blights in your garden in the last couple of years. Most local garden centers will also have a selection of seeds available so talk to them about what varieties will do best in our climate and why they stock the seed they do!
